This was the first residential building I worked on, in NYC. It has an elegant character that is subtle and so well balanced. The glass ribbon at the base, initially a Tesla delivery center, floats the terra cotta block of punched openings above. The lower residential block clad in white has custom “bay” windows that kink out 10º to allow for more light and air. At the top, the ribbons of glass return to form terraces and panoramic views of the Hudson. I was responsible for detailing and coordinating the many custom ceilings, decorations, millwork and casework with independant fabricators. Many different sets were developed to gain approvals from the many agency in NYC. Below I have included a few samples from the HPD submission. This project spiked my interest in multi-family housing unlike anything I had worked on before. I became fascinated with the level of detail and coordination.
