Poised as one of the tallest residential buildings in lower Manhattan, 45 Broad St. was planned to tower over 1,000ft with 80+ floors and a tuned mass damper. The caisson style piered footings carry the extreme loads hundreds of feet down to the bedrock below the island. This was a thrilling and transformative experience in my career. The scale and scope are beyond any work I’ve done before. It was the great, enthusiastic team at CetraRuddy that brought me up to speed and let me take on new capabilities. This project commanded a large team, which I enjoyed. We were each responsible for coordinating our assigned portion of the document set with consultants.
